LIGHTLY BACKED APPALOOSA X WELSH MARE...
Rising 6yo mare, welsh x appaloosa 13.2hh, lovely paces, willing, kind temperament.
Polly has been lightly backed and bitted. She works nicely inhand over poles and around our improvised handy pony course, and is good with traffic (including lorries).
Polly lunges responsively and has lunged over poles and a little jump nicely. She is now trotting ridden on the lunge, and is very smooth and responsive to the voice of the rider.
Good with farrier, loads and travels fine, up to date with worming, teeth, back, vaccinations (3rd vacc due in a few months).
When we bought her she was completely unhandled (owner hadn’t had the time, and had enough land to keep her on). We turn her out in a headcollar as she was tricky to catch initially. We can now catch her easily, but still turn out in the headcollar as our fields are rather large and we don’t have stables.
She is a brave, sweet pony, and now that she has the basics carefully established I don’t think it will be long before she is ridden off the lunge/lead, and out having fun with her new owner!
My friend and I bought Polly as a project, and it’s now time to sell as she is finishing her maternity leave and my work is getting more full on. Sold due to no fault of her own, she is a lovely mare who will make someone very happy!
