Stourton Red Robin is a pony that is hard to find. Robin has done show jumping, working hunter, hunting, beach rides, pony club/camp, ride outs, cross country, showing in hand and ridden. He is very flashy in the show ring as his coat has a tinge of red through it in the summer which catches your eye and makes him stand out. He can hold his own very well against the larger breeds and is very flowy in the ring. He will stand up in front of a judge properly and will run alongside you no problem doing the conformation.
Robin also loves to do show jumping, he is very fast against the clock and can turn tight corners at ease. He can jump a course of 75cm without problem. He is not phased by loud music, banners, flags, tannoys, farm machinery, farm animals, watertrays/planks/fillers as he jumps anything he's turned to. Robin LOVES a good day hunting, he has the stamina to go all day and not get tired, he jumps all the ditches and smaller gates he's turned to.
Robin has had many wins throughout his career including
- 5 champions @ Trailblazers National Championships
- 1st M&M WH then 1st reserve @ PUK Summer Championships
- 1st M&M WH @NPS Scotland finals @ Blair Castle
- Overall champion performance Dartmoor by the DPS in 2015
- Overall reserve champion performance Dartmoor by the DPS in 2016
- 6/6 wins in cross country events
- 1st then champion M&M ridden @ NPS Scotland summer show
- numerous wins/champions/reserves at local/county/agricultural shows
- Won best of breed performance pony with the SWPCA
Robin would suit a rider who has experience but wants to go up a level and become more competitive. He is NOT a first pony as he is NOT a push button pony. He does require the rider to ride him to get the best out the partnership. Robin is well behaved with a good temperament, he wont buck/rear or bolt with you. Robin is very quiet and easy going, he will be good with a lot of fuss or hardly any, he has impeccable stable manners and won't barge through you. He will travel well in a lorry or a trailer no problem whether its 20 minutes or 7 hours. He does not wear shoes but will stand for the farrier and he loves a good bath. Robin has no lumps/bumps and has a clean confirmation. He is a healthy pony and we have had no problem with him over the last six years. He is up to date with vaccinations and worming. We are looking for a really good home for Robin as he has exceeded all expectations from us. He will come with a bridle, rugs, and saddle negotiable. The price may also be negotiable to the best of homes. He is only for sale as our rider has outgrown him. Please NO TIMEWASTERS OR DAY TRIPPERS as this is a hard sale.
