*********** loaned loaned loaned ********15/10/08 Is there really nobody wanting a challenge! No more e mails. sick of answering them. If you think you are up for it then please ring.
17hh WB x ISH grey gelding 8 YRS by Buskhill Gunnar ( Grade A) out of a GRade B Mare. Ziggy has been with us for over 3 Years but my husband has lost interest so he has done very little for the last 18 months. To say Ziggy is quirky is an understatement but if understood he is a lovely boy.
Ziggy was savaged as a foal by a stallion and I belive almost died. He has the scars to prove it. As a direct result of this he weaves, at times badly. He hates anything that might cause pain - vets, mane pulling and clipping being the main ones! He can when stressed behave like an orphan foal and not show enough respect, at these times ( which are less now he is older) children are best out of the way! Due to his severe injuries he has a dropped hip which you cant miss, so although he has been correctly produced he is wooden to ride on the flat and obviously cant do any ridden/dressage classes!
Ziggy also makes a noise but this does not affect his performance and reduces when fit. He loves jumping especially cross country and when fit and clued in will jump almost anything. Won and placed unaffiliated SJ and HT to open level and behaves at shows.
When ridden regularly he is on the whole good to hack and with traffic but currently would need to ride out with another to get going again. He is generally good to handle. he enjoys routine and has at times got upset if left too long for his tea in winter. Soon gets over it when it finally arrives.
I gat on him a few weeks ago after almost 12 months of. I just climbed on and off we went. He does not lunge as does not respect lunge whip! A few days after plodding around areana i tried afew jumps and want as if done it last week althiugh has a style of his own.
Would not suit a novice but has been ridden out by a few when in full work and never put a foot wrong! He is good to load and travels well. Good to hot shoe and great with other horses, usually the underdog. He adores attention and people and so fantastic to catch. cant wait to get head in headcollar! He is on no medication for any of his physical issues.
So there you have it - THE HONEST TRUTH! He is quirky in many respects but once understood is a great horse with lots to give. we love him to bits. If you think you could offer him a good home and cope with him then please get in touch. He is not for sale but we might consider it at a later date if the lucky person wantec to. I want no joyriders or people who think he be good for just galloping round. Prospective homes will be vetted and loan subject to a loan agreement which will include insurance for vets fees for injury not his hip and personal and third party liability,
