12.2 12YR FUN COB GELDING
Description
12.2 12yr piebald cob gelding
Fun little chap looking for a keen kid for lots of fun and adventures.
He isn't a kick along plod and is as wide as he is tall, so would be most suited as a 1.5/2nd pony however he will go on leadrein if he were to be a sibling share. He enjoys work and will benefit from a busy, varied life that wants to get out and be 'doing'.
Lovely to have around, no trouble at all. Good manners and enjoys fuss and attention. Easy to do in all ways and is handled by my son.
Good to catch, lead, load, travel, bath, clip, for the farrier (barefoot), vet etc.
Happy in or out, he does like having a mate around but not clingy or silly, just shouts a bit initially if he thinks he's on his own.
Nice paces and lovely transitions, doesn't need endless kicking to get shifting or keep going, responsive but not sensitive or reactive. Responsive to seat aids so great for kids to continue to learn properly.
His one 'fault' would be that, with smaller children, he can push his luck in the school and try to shoot forward and canters a circle, I think he's learnt with the current owner that this bothers her and she'll pull him up and want to stop, however my son has been bringing him back down a gear, ignoring it and just carrying on and him trying it has lessened considerably. It won't bother a keener kid but for someone just learning it might, he doesn't follow it up with anything and I think it will stop completely with someone it doesn't 'work' with.
He enjoys jumping, currently popping around 50cm, he's done both sj, wh and xc fences and will trot or canter in and will pop round a little course without losing the jockey off the back.
Super to hack alone (obviously mainly with someone walking due to rider size!) and in company, doesn't mind being left behind a bit and then being asked to trot to catch up etc. Been fab in all the traffic we have seen, and on our farm so sees tractors, quads, sheep, dogs, kids etc. He is steadier out hacking and will mooch along at whatever speed you ask.
In past homes he has been to STARS champion of champions 2 years running, been to the beach, attended lots of shows, RC/PC etc.
Current owner has been to shows, fun rides, Somerford etc.
He'd love a home to continue to have the same fun. I also think he'd be super to hunt.
Sad sale as his little rider isn't very confident and he wants to be 'doing' much more than she does. He'd also suit a petite mother/child share or sibling share, or even a little adult.
5* home required.
Up to date with vaccs/teeth/farrier/worming/physio.
Tack and rugs available.
