I was going to keep this quiet off the forum for now, largely as there have been a lot of visitors of late, but its now been mentioned on facebook so everyone will know anyhow.

I am looking for another horse. And if you guys could help I'd really really appreciate it, as viewing in the Uk is a nightmare for me and a long way to go just to find a dealer is dodgy/horse is not as described etc.

I am after minimum 15hh maximum 16hh cob or midweight hunter type 6 - 14 years old. Absolutely must hack alone, have three well established paces and genuine horse that is not strong or silly, suitable for a novice that can get nervous.

If you hear see anything I'd really appreciate it if you could point it out to me, as I'm a bit lost as to where to start. Have any contacts or can name some good dealers preferaby close enough to an airport (i know thats a big ask) it would be great.

I still have bob and have not yet made decisions about what I will do, as in will I keep both, part lease full lease or sell.

I want to do more than Bob can offer at the moment, and it's got to the stage where we are not really progressing.

It's a sad and hard decision but one that has been made for a long time, but has taken a long while to accept really and put my life in order so I can get another one.

If something comes up in my 'patch' I'd be happy to go and have a look-see and let you know if we know anything'dodgy' about them if it's a dealer.  We're in West Kent.  As you know, we're not experts by a long chalk but we could at least let you know if it seems to be as described on the tin!  Good luck searching.

You've got spies in all parts of the UK so hopefully, you'll get the lowdown on any seller before you even venture off Jersey.

You sound all worried about finding your next horse and it's supposed to be fun

JG good luck in the search. Can i be really nosy and ask how much your price limit will be ? PM me if you like, just i know a couple of good horses for sale up here (plenty where Parco came from, and she is a very reputable dealer, however depends if she has anything suitable) but obviously don't want to start having a think for you depending on your budget as unfortunately Scotland is not cheap but the horses are normally good quality, depending where you go of course. Also not far from Edinburgh airport and you can also see me Ok i had you sold on the idea til the last bit

Ahh fab thanks all would really appreciate that bahw and hf.

I am a little sad th as I know it means me and bob no matter what happens won't be the same me and bob anymore.

Ker lol love the idea, might get a nice scots man too I have a thing for the accent budgeting a grand for vetting travel and vat we pay 3 percent tax on the value when we import so everyone says meat price but they've cottened on to that. I don't really want to go above 4k for the horse with tack but can go a bit more if it really ticks all the boxes

In away I want something able to take me places, but also don't want something so good it's wasted while I get there but also don't want to be looking again in two years if possible as I want to go further again.

Peachy may want to come too as another pair of eyes

Ok, i will get in touch with the woman i got Parco from and see if she has anything suitable within your budget and also speak to a friend who knows practically everyone in this area and always knows of good horses that are for sale/coming up for sale.

Peachy may want to come too as another pair of eyes

Indeed yes ... because, if she chooses another one that turns out not to be as expected in some very fundamentally important ways my sanity will not stand up to hearing about it everyday!!

I am (mainly!) joking JG  ... You've had some unfortunate bad luck with your two (although Bob has been a blessing in disguise) & you asked all the right questions etc it just seems you got some answers which had the truth bended slightly. Third time lucky ... You have a big support network now to ensure that all areas are thought about, you also know a bit more about what you want & dont want, what you can work through & what is still not the right time in your life for. You could have done a lot worse with the two you've had ... I can think of plenty people that have made continously bad decisions when it comes to horses. You've not done too bad

I'd just really like for you to have a nice sized horse with a character. Something with his/her head screwed on that will help you gain in confidence rather then zap it away & thats adaptable so that you can try different things on like hunting & XC's etc.

Yeah with the first one I highered an agent to help find me a horse who had been recommended who was useless didn't even see the horses she took me to before I got there and charged me 250 and I took a knowledgeable friend and still bought the wrong one.

Bobs been okay really, he just very clever and susses out his rider he's actually very good for learning as he's as hard to ride as you can cope with does that make sense? The better you get the more he ups his game to keep you on your toes.

Thanks ker that be great as I say I'm hoping to view end of this week or sometime next whilst I'm off if I find anything suitable to view.

I'm also going to post this as a buyers diary if that makes sense and when all complete move it to the open forum under the buying horses section in hope my experiences help others

So hope it's a fun ride for everone to be involved in/read
