WPCS can be a real but ache!!!! Dealt with them about 8 times in 10 years and always the same - slow, no matter what time of year!!

I'll just be glad to get the passport in my hand and hopefully not have to bother with them again. I think i'd rather have no breeding in the passport than have to go through them again :thumbs:

i'm guessing mal either spoke welsh to them or has a strong welsh accent!

that's the trouble with the welsh they don't accept and are unwilling to help the english out, not all but the majority!

i'm welsh through and through but with no accent, i actually got run out of one village because they swore blind i was english! :w00t:

I had to threaten them with DEFRA, Trading Standards and I told them i'd post on every forum on the internet :Whistling: about their incompetence if it wasn't sorted - pronto. And they've agreed not to wait for the original breeder and stallion owner to sign the new form "in this instance" :rolleyes: I did get Mal on the case though and they were certainly more receptive then ;)

they are absolutely rubbish. i know a few people who have worked there over the years and knowing the people i can understand why they are so rubbish!

as for the local trading standards over there they are just as useless, unless they've changed in the last 10yrs you won't have any joy from them as they are all related in Aberystwyth! ;)

hope you get it sorted out soon though.

we found them amazing as we are a welsh pony stud
and my mom messed upp 3 passports in one year
but there slow atm as they are moving offices
they can be slow coming back but are very helpful to us

I think i'll use the Cleveland Bay Society... they were very quick and helpful, that's who Apache's breeder used for all her foals as they're so quick. :D

Joey's with the Scottish Sport Horse Society and is down as a 'scottish sports pony' - he's most likely never been to scotland in his life, had probably never left Devon till I bought him to go to Cornwall and his breeder tells me is appleby gypsy cob x shire! :w00t:

still, they were very helpful when I had a few queries and I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again!

problem is TH is everyone is passporting this years foals at the mo :P i found wpcs very helpful :D when i changed a few things on maxs passport it was back within 3 weeks .

can we see your new welshie pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee :heart:

oh dont get me started on the welsh passports!!!!!!! what a load of crap!

i have to travel round yorkshire to get every tom dick and harry to sign Mo's passport, then they wanted to keep the passport when they said they cant change the name over due to a gap in owner cover!!!

i kicked off and after 4 times of sending and calling got it back..... never again will i deal with them!

The Cleveland Bay Horse Society are very good :) They did everything they could to help me get verified breeding for Molly and I registered both her foals with them. In every case, the passports were with me in less than 2 weeks, and the passports are nice with plastic covers

Oh no! I need to get Joe a passport and as he's a part bred welsh i was going to go with them. I only emailed last night as their website was too bluddy confusing for words.

I guess i'll go with Pet ID or someone... or the cleveland bay society... which is who Apache's passport is with. :w00t:

I'm having the worst time trying to get a passport for a horse, the WP&CS are being absolutely useless and I know i'm not the only one who has trouble with them :angry:

I bought an unpassported horse. Actually I believed it was passported but the owner gave me a form filled out by the vet and signed by the breeder and stallion owner but unfortunately, it was a WPCS form and I had a sinking feeling when she gave it to me because experience has told me they are pretty unhelpful for even straightforward things, so an unpassported, unmicrochipped horse with a form filled out 4 years ago was bound to be too tricky for them :rolleyes:

I rang them up and the woman on the phone was surprisingly helpful. As I already had the breeders signatures and description on the old form, it was simply a matter of getting the horse chipped and get the vet to fill out the new form to say he's done it. Great :D

4 weeks later, I got a receipt for my £25 fee :ermm: still no passport :rolleyes:

Yesterday I got a letter and my application returned as the drawing had to be completed and they now need the signature of the breeder - despite already having the drawing and signature on the old form. So now I have to start again :crazy:

I sent the form back (again) after doing the drawing (again) and they have written to the breeder/stallion owner who will probably be on holiday/moved/busy/died and it will take an age. All the time. i'm keeping a horse I had someone desperate to buy 3 weeks ago but they went a bought one elsewhere as they couldn't wait.

I did a little search on the web to see how long it takes them to get their act in gear, and nothing gave me any hope. One person had to wait 2 years for a passport. By the time it arrived, the horse had passed away...

I'm very temped to give Aberystwyth Trading Standards a call - i'm sure there'll be a lot of other complaints and it might get them to hurry up :rolleyes:
