Kiwi FOR SALE – PONY 13.2hh Gorgeous little ‘horse’. Real ‘thoroughbred’ looks. A 13.2hh Chestnut Mare, 8 years old. Unregistered Part Bred Arab. This pony is the perfect Second Pony, adventurous and keen to work, while kind, totally responsive to people and sweet natured! We bought Kiwi nearly 3 years ago as my daughter’s second pony and we found her to have had a good early education and to be ready to bring on. Since then she has done XC, WH, Showing, Pony Club, Show Jumping and games. She has done varying types of arena work, loves to hack in all terrains and she’s even been swimming (with rider) in the river! She’s is a willing responsive girl, who loves to work and is happy to learn. She can be very slightly fizzy occasionally, but still listens to her rider (this pony has got ‘brakes’, if you need to use them!). She has come a fair way in the time we have had her, learning a lot and gaining experience. She’s a great Working Hunter pony; that, and Cross Country, being what she loves best. She also has done well in showing, show jumping and games, and has continued with her education. She has brought home rosettes, every time she’s competed. Kiwi can continue to develop, going from strength to strength. She is happy to work alone or in company (though she would be very sad living alone), she’s good in traffic, will lead or follow, is good to load and travel, can be hot or cold shod, good in the stable or out in the field. She’s an extremely nice pony. She has never had laminitis, never had any skin problems (eg sweet-itch or anything) or ill health. She is a ‘fine’ pony, both in build and coat, and does need to be appropriately rugged (for example, all-weather in the winter), but is surprisingly hardy and is a good do-er. One of the lovely things about this very pretty mare, is that she looks like and has all the characteristics of a little ‘horse’ (rather than a pony) and so makes a perfect transition pony, taking her rider on to horses. My daughter has now outgrown Kiwi (though, has still been hacking her, to prevent her from becoming bored), and is going to be moving up to horses. Kiwi is therefore, very sadly, for sale.
